Runners may run in only one race.
Race Selection
 | There is no minimum time. Every high school runner of quali fying age is invited to the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. Each individual should choose the race best suited to his/her ability. For your consideration in choosing your race, please note the following top 24 times from the
1999 Foot Locker Northeast Regional. The weather was very warm (60 degrees Fahrenheit) allowing all to run 5K PR's. The course is a strong
challenge. |

RACE COURSE INFORMATION The course is 5000 meters and consists of grass, dirt paths and crushed rock. Spikes are
permitted. Athletes may participate in only one race. The course starts and finishes in the open fields adjacent to Broadway just
above 242nd Street.

Directions to the course
 | From South: Take NJ Turnpike to George Washington Bridge. Cross bridge and follow signs to New England, North, via the Major Deegan Expressway, which is 1-87. Take 1-87 North to Van
Cortlandt Park South exit. Bear right at exit fork and
proceed three blocks West to Broadway. Make right on Broadway, proceed North (under train tracks) one half mile. The race course is on the right, just north of Burger King. Travel time is about
15 minutes after crossing GW Bridge. |
 | From North: (i) Take New York State Thruway (1-87) South to Van
Cortlandt Park South exit. At light at top of exit ramp, make right (West) to Broadway, and follow directions to course as above. (2) Take 1-95 South to Gun Hill Road exit and proceed West until you reach Van Cortlandt Park South, and then proceed to Broadway and make right, as above. |
 | PARKING Parking is available on the streets surrounding the park. |
 | NOTE: Keep belongings in your car trunk, not on your car seats! Please abide by all NYC parking regulations. |
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Races

All runners who do not qualify for the seeded races will
compete in the appropriate race based on their year in school.

Medals
 | The top 24 finishers in each race are awarded medals. |
Foot Locker National Finals
 | The top eight finishers in each of the seeded races qualify for the Foot Locker National
Finals in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on December 9, 1999. |
State Team Awards
 | The top five individual male and top five individual female finishers from each state in
the seeded races make up the states' teams. |
 | Each individual on the first five teams is awarded a medal. |
 | States competing are: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. |
